Cyklojízda Ekotopie je samoorganizované, mezinárodní společenství, které už od roku 1990 organizuje cyklojízdy různými částmi Evropy. Během putování navštěvujeme různé enviromentální i sociální projekty a praktikujeme způsoby aktivismu a udržitelného způsobu života. Dodržujeme zásady veganství, zkoušíme konsensuální způsob rozhodování a podporujeme sdílení dovedností. Ecotopia Biketour je pro každého, kdo se zajímá o cestování na kole, komunitní život, DIY, enviromentalismus a osobní růst na základě zkušeností.

Because we all have different visions of life and diverse personalities, Ecotopia Biketour has developed a set of basic values which helps all of us to create similar expectations from this project.

As we oppose any leadership or hierachical structures, the Biketour is organised in an open way where everyone can be a part of.

Online Tools

We try to use free and open-source software as much as possible in the preparation process. The same goes for sharing photos and videos in the group.

On the road

Everyone should be able to cycle with the Biketour. Therefore we keep distances low and have scouts going ahead who mark the route. Everyone can follow the signs on their own level of speed. Any tasks like scouting, cooking or pulling a trailer are shared.

Food

All communal food on Biketour is vegan and cooked with wood on our mobile rocket stove.
Whenever it’s possible we go dumpster-diving and buy food from local farmers and small shops.

We plan and make many activities on the tour: skill-sharing, helping at projects, joining actions and protests, bike-fixing and other events.

At approximately at 1:30 in the night the bus spits me out at Dijon Gare. I get my stuff together and spot the abandoned bikes around. There is one that looks quite promising and definitely has been there for a long time with a flat tire and dirt piling up under the wheels. The Tour have been starting for almost a month now with many kilometers and project going on. Since “les Hirondelles” project the tour went by “LA ferme du Joran” and left Switzerland to go to Dijon in “les lentillères” project. ? We started the Ecotopia Biketour 2025 in Pontareuse, Boudry (Switzerland), on this beautiful farm, “The farm of Pontareuse” by the collective of Hirondelles (meaning swallows, like the birds). The farm is a squatted farm and the collective want it to provide a chance for communal farming and gardening for villagers, and offer a place for people from the nearby asylum seekers centre to come and cook food (in their cozy outside kitchen), as well as offering a place to stay in emergency situations while also being a home and garden of the people from Hirondelles collective. Grab your bikes and your instruments! This year the route will start with not just one but two biketours! Ecotopia will join forces with SunRide System, a band of musicians and street artists. With their sound systems on cargobikes they’re touring and bringing along music everywhere they go. They do concerts in various different localities and communities, as well as paid gigs to fund their journey.
