For the first time this year, we are having the Childish Weeks. From 1–14 August, we are putting a special focus on the needs of children and their caregivers who want to join the Biketour. The purpose is to make it easier for people with children to join the Biketour, and also to concentrate the participation of children so that they will meet some peers.
The Childish Weeks aim to be especially accessible for both young children who travel in a trailer or on a bike seat as well as older children who can already cycle themselves. Daily distances will be smaller than usual, the weeks will happen in a region comparatively easy to reach, and the route will be planned to have infrastructure along the way to get necessary supplies and to skip parts of the way by train if needed.
While the dates have been fixed and you can reserve those in your calendars, the region has not been decided yet. We are aiming to have the Weeks in Skåne, the southernmost region of Sweden, but this is not sure yet.
The Childish Weeks shall be inclusive to people with children, not exclusive to people without children. There will be many people without children during the Childish Weeks. Also, children are also welcome to participate in any other part of the tour, but the Childish Weeks will put a special focus on their needs and other children are guaranteed to be there.
If you would like to participate in the Childish Weeks, contact us. We have set up a group chat to exchange experiences and needs, and as the tour approaches we want to have some video calls and maybe even local test tours.
Read our blog posts to find out more about the Childish Weeks. Updates will also be posted there, as well as on this page.
