Childish Weeks (2026)

For the first time this year, we are having the Childish Weeks. From 1–14 August, we are putting a special focus on the needs of children and their caregivers who want to join the Biketour. The purpose is to make it easier for people with children to join the Biketour, and also to concentrate the participation of children so that they will meet some peers.

The Childish Weeks aim to be especially accessible for both young children who travel in a trailer or on a bike seat as well as older children who can already cycle themselves. Daily distances will be smaller than usual, the weeks will happen in a region comparatively easy to reach, and the route will be planned to have infrastructure along the way to get necessary supplies and to skip parts of the way by train if needed.

This section of the Ecotopia Biketour will happen 1st–14th of August in Borås – Göteborg – Trollhättan. These start and end dates and locations are set (meaning we will not make changes to them) to make it easier to plan joining the tour with kids.

During Childish Weeks the plan is to cycle around 20 km per day and do camping in nature, making use of wind shelters on the way. (Projects and contacts are also still welcome for this part of the tour as well!). Note that people joining the Childish Weeks can also choose together to do more kilometers per day and then have more rest days somewhere.

Route Plan 1st–14th of August = the Childish Weeks

1st of August: Borås: Arriving. Also possible to arrive the day before.

2nd of August: Borås: Rest day after the travels.

3rd of August: Cycling ~20 km

4th of August: Cycling ~20 km

10th of August: Cycling ~20 km

11th of August: Rest day

12th of August: Cycling ~20 km

13th of August: Cycling ~20 km. Arriving to Trollhättan.

14th of August: Trollhättan: Rest day = End of the Childish Weeks,
cycling will continue the next day according to the general plan.

Note:
Distance between Borås and Göteborg is 68 km, meaning cycling per day might be less than 20 km depending on where the camp spots are found. Distance between Göteborg and Trollhättan is 80 km, meaning cycling per day might be bit more than 20 km depending on where the camp spots are found.

We will not make changes to the start and end location (of Childish Weeks) and their dates. The plan for the other days instead is a rough plan that can slightly change before or during the tour.

The Childish Weeks shall be inclusive to people with children, not exclusive to people without children. There will be many people without children during the Childish Weeks. Also, children are also welcome to participate in any other part of the tour, but the Childish Weeks will put a special focus on their needs and other children are guaranteed to be there.

If you would like to participate in the Childish Weeks, contact us. We have set up a group chat to exchange experiences and needs, and as the tour approaches we want to have some video calls and maybe even local test tours.

Read our blog posts to find out more about the Childish Weeks. Updates will also be posted there, as well as on this page.
