wake up

whow, that was a harsh wake up. i tend to fall into this biketour dream quite soon after i joined - so many nice people you meet, so many nice places, everything friendly and sunshine ... even the mine workshop did not destroy that dream - you just look on the mines map to know, where not to leave the road.

but then, after a great stay in zelenkovac (www.zelenkovac.net), a small refugium in a forest valley, everything made of wood and in such a design, that it does not disturb nature, we had this uphill to makljen - going up to 1123 m altitude. there were several people in front of me, but still ...

i came around the corner and did not only see one lorry loaded with sand coming towards me, but two. next to each other. in slow process to overtake. no matter that that was forbidden in this serpentine road, continous line and such. and do not think, the driver did pull the brakes for me. i had to jump to the side, but was not quick enough - the wheel of my trailor was hit.

what shocked me especially was the attitude of the driver: he just did not care. no excuse, no "how are you". he offered 20 konvertible marks/ 10 euros.

i was in shock the whole day, buying a new wheel with the local police and missing the sunset but seeing the moon rise in makljen ... the nice thing was, that tiho got my sms about the accident a guy from the national newspaper was there and helped with his car to take my stuff :) now i am kind of famous here.

media is working so good, biketour is the sensation. we are the first people after the war doing this kind of thing here, people recongnise us in the street and while shopping, they are really friendly.

but it definetly got me out of that dream. the next day i saw more war ruins than before, i saw more really risky behaviour of car/lorry/bus drivers and was more sensible to honking and people with dead eyes.
