Tour diary

Another day in Sunny Banja Luka! We woke this morning with sore heads after a pretty wild party at the castle. I've never climbed a castle wall before but the local girls made it look easy. Up they went and into the concert for free! :) Our fuzzy heads arrived back at the sleeping place and were shocked to see that the place had somehow become a colony of Croatian girls! I, of course, was not complaining... After the confusion of the morning we managed to make our way to an action to promote awareness of the river vrbas and it's proposed damming. It was quite a sight to see the biketour all dressed in the same "let the vrbas flow" t-shirts, even more amazing was the fact that we looked clean for a change. A stall was set up in the square, a local provided the beats and many a signature was collected. The biketour people became 2 wheeled flier drops. The local media came and even the reluctant managed to give an interview without making too much of a tit of themselves. A short but pleasant bike ride around the city rounded off the action then it's off to the market to shop for our first biketour dinner :) I'm afraid we'll be leaving soon and heading for our next camp, with the many joys of Banja Luca behind us and the unknown road to our front. I'm sure the local pastry shop will miss the biketour people, and their Euro even more, but isn't spreading the love what biketour is about...
