Hi all!

After amazing 2 months on the move, Biketour is lately stopped at Zaježová where still some of the participants take part on the many workshops.

Through Lithunia, Poland and now Slovakia we cycled from flat to hilly, from dry and warm to wet and sometimes cold.

In our roads we had some gravel or sand, but many good asphalt without many motor traffic and with incursions through national parks quite often.

Some would say that there weren't enough cities, but many agree that this year we experienced many "typical" landscapes still untouched by modernization.

There were some actions, but outside big population areas we had more trouble on finding locals groups with active campaigns. We let our messages flow in the media that several times "talked with/about us", but personally I felt that this year the word of mouth on personal contacts was quite satisfactory (thanks to many flyers available to handle and start some conversations).

Many thanks to all the hosts that welcomed us so warm till now, and let's hope we stay in contact with all the local groups and participants.

All together this year, we had almost every European country represented and some others from rest of this small world. Few of us stayed from the beginning till now, or even less of the same are the ones that will continue after Ecotopia. But others are coming to join us in direction to Split, and Ecotopia is the perfect place for attracting similar minded people to take part in BT06 2nd part. We have some bikes stopped at Zaježová , and probably some of you could borrow them on the way south...

A special goodbye to the people from Armenia, Moldova and Russia that were able to join us this year due to valuable work of Roeland handling the "grant work", heavy but rewarding!

Now Hungary expects us, where we'll be involved in more actions at Eger, some "mini-mass" Budapest-style, and explore the wild part of Lake Balaton. Csaba, here we come! ;)

Then, a small preview at green Slovenia (let's hope that some other time we'll stay more time there) and then we'll enter the largest BT former participants country. Ivan, still with us, will be our main "host" in a Croatia where we expect to be joined by many known faces.

And where are you going to celebrate your CarFree Day of 22nd September? Don't you want to join us at Split? We hope to see you before, nevertheless ;)

Talking about Ecotopia, I heard some rumours that it's almost decided that next year this gathering will take place near the sunny coasts of Portugal. That means that I will of course invite you to come and visit my country, on a 2007 Biketour that will end there... or pass-by, what do you think?

P.S.:

This year we have an "overload" of pictures... impossible to upload until we selected some. Some ppl have DVDs with some of them
