Welcome to Ecotopia Biketour 2013!- where you can keep up to date with the current plans for this summers tour on the borderlines….!

Every summer for over 20 years the Ecotopia Biketour has been promoting sustainable living and aspects of direct action throughout Europe. Pedalling a different route every year, we create an international, mobile eco-community while learning from existing projects along the way: from environmental; activist; intentional communities; natural areas and people struggling for ecological and social justice.

This years theme is Borders::::Boundaries::::and Beyond! See the about page for a bit of history of past biketours, from climate change issues to sustainable economics.

Plans for this years tour are now well under way, and we are all getting excited! The most concrete thing we can say now, is that it is likely to kick off form Berlin in the first weeks of July, where we will cycle south east for two – three months.  Below is a map of some of the projects people have suggested we could visit.  We thought we would share them also with you now… click on the map to explore!

We are still open for suggestions of groups, projects, actions and communities to join with, related in some way to this years theme of ‘Borders’, and ‘Global Justice’.

The countries we are looking into pass through include: Germany / Czech Republic / Slovakia / Austria / Hungary / Serbia / Croatia / Serbia / Romania [the final route will be selection of these] so please email info@ecotopiabiktour.net, with suggestions and whether or not you would like us to add them to this public map!….…. this is a DIY collective … ‘You are the Biketour!!\

Also: We are currently looking for funding towards this years tour, to pay for things like action or promotional materials, cooking equipment, trailer parts, and financial support for the coordination team working hard to make this happen-  you can contact the email address above with funding opportunities or donations of skills, equipment, time, or encouragement!
